AI FOR ALL FOR SALES & MARKETING - GROUP ACTIVITY
Promote a new arts-and-crafts fair in Hammersmith
Introduction
As a group, use the paper, PostIt notes and pens on your table to sketch out a campaign to promote this new community-focused event, perhaps adopting team roles - researcher, producer, leader, who will present your campaign to the room..
brainstorm with pen and paper - target audience, message, where to promote etc.
use AI tools to help you where you need it - only if you want to, this is not compulsory
create a campaign plan that you can upload to a presentation page using the online form on this webpage
campaign headline / title and description, your campaign in detail, how AI helped you shape the campaign and will ensure it succeeds etc.
as a group, work on 2-3 AI-supported activities to illustrate your project. Examples:
AI-generated poster
AI-drafted social media posts
As well as sending us a digital copy of your presentation text using the form below, plan to send us any campaign images you produce, to display on screen during your group’s presentation. This can be done using the form - if you find your number of file uploads is limited, email them to colin@mondatum.com.
Your group leader will present your campaign to the room using those supporting visuals. Please produce legible, presentable paper versions of your presentations in case technical issues prevent us from using the screen.
The copy of your presentation text we receive will be used to update this page with the text description of your campaign and the images you uploaded, to complete the story. Check back after the workshop to see the updated page consenting all of the group’s presentations.
The project:
A new weekend arts-and-crafts fair is launching in your borough. It will feature local makers, from painters and photographers to jewellery designers and potters, who want to showcase and sell their work.
The goal:
Get local people excited about the fair so they come along, tell their friends and buy from the makers.
The challenge:
There isn’t a big budget for advertising, so the campaign needs to be smart, eye-catching, and use free or low-cost ways to spread the word.
Your task as a group:
come up with a simple campaign name or slogan
choose a target audience (e.g., families, young professionals, art lovers, tourists)
decide how to use AI to help you:
to write social media posts
to design poster or flyer ideas
to suggest where and how to promote (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp groups, local press)
plan 2–3 campaign activities you’d run in the 2 weeks leading up to the fair.
frame and structure clearly, on paper, and generate and download any AI-generated elements you wish to use - posters, email template content etc.
Towards the end of the allotted hour, before the final break, complete the form in as much detail as possible and upload any images you have, from drawings on paper to digital images, artwork, even video clips if you’re in the mood and can generate videos that are worthwhile sharing.
submit the form at the end of practical exercise and ensure the supporting documents have been successfully sent to us.
after that short break, during the final part of the workshop, your group leader will present your campaign to the whole room, with support from your uploaded visuals

GROUP !
Target audience (demographic):
We chose 25-40 year-olds.and asked ChatGPT to suggest 2-3 advertisements to use to promote the fair to the target market. It came up with: ‘Build buzz’, ‘Get them involved’,
Poster:
The first attempt using ChatGPT rendered a brown corporate looking image with a cup of coffee. So we iterated and added the iconic Hammersmith Bridge as part of the visual in our text prompt.
We also tried out Adobe Firefly for the poster but it incorrectly spelled Handmade Hammersmith, putting Hanade Hamrsmith as text on the poster.
Campaign for target audience - young professionals (25-40):
ChatGPT suggested a campaign which built buzz, got them (target audience) involved, which would make the fair a go to local experience.
The three ChatGPT suggestions -
1. Create afterwork creative taster sessions.
60-90 minute pop-up workshops to relax and get the target audience involved as a preview to the fair with discounted / free tickets.
2. Create a Tik Tok/Insta Challenge.
12 days before the fair, encourage the target audience to create and share their own handmade creations, which they would share with #handmadehammersmith (ChatGPT suggested #madeinhammersmith, which we changed to the correct campaign name) The challenge would tap into the target audience's social vibe and build a community. It would be quick and easy to join. The winners would be featured at the fair.
3. Craft & Cocktails Networking Evening.
One week before the fair create a casual mixer for the target audience by partnering with a local bar or cafe, who would make special handmade cocktails to align with the theme. The evening would include arts & crafts taster sessions, so this event would be a mix of socialising, networking, and creativity.
On further reflection of this ChatGPT suggestion, it would be useful to include Mocktails in the event, given the profile of the target audience. So, it would be a Craft & Cocktails-Mocktails Networking Evening.
